DUTCH TREATMENT GUIDELINES FOR DOCTORS AND PATIENTS

A huge committee of doctors, researchers and experts in Holland worked tirelessly for 5 years to write the standard treatment protocols for treating CRPS in Holland. Now every Dutch patient can benefit from these very important guidelines. Special thanks to Drs. Ilona Thomassen, of the Dutch Patient Organization (Nederlandse Vereniging. van Post Traumatische Dystrophy Patiënten) for supplying PARC with two Guidelines for Doctors and Patients. She hopes they will help many people.

RSDSA has published the 4th edition of their guidelines:

Harden, N MD et al CRPS: Practical Diagnostic and Treatment Guidelines 4th Edition Pain Medicine 2013

Guidelines contain the latest findings on graded motor imagery and mirror therapy which have been proven to retrain the brain. In CRPS there is cortical reorganization in the brain which needs to be reversed through therapy.

More guidelines have been published in UK and USA.
